Elena is an engagement, advocacy, and policy professional, serving as the Programme Officer for “Global Policy Watch” (GPW), a joint initiative of Social Watch and Global Policy Forum in New York City. With academic and professional experience in structural and systemic forms of violence, Elena follows UNHQ meetings and conferences, publishing UN Monitor and analysis-style publications on sustainable development, UN reform and financing for development while working with civil society organizations based in NYC and Social Watch's extensive network to identify advocacy opportunities.
Elena holds an MSc in Violence, Conflict, and Development from The School of Oriental and African Studies in London, UK and a Bachelors degree in Political Science and Peace and Justice Studies from Pace University in New York City. She is also currently an Adjunct Professor in Peace and Justice Studies at Pace University.
