On June 22, 2010, GPF invited William Pace and Assistant Clinical Professor Jennifer Trahan to speak with GPF about the Review Conference of the International Criminal Court. The conference took place in Kampala, Uganda, from May 30 until June 12, 2010. Pace participated in the conference as the Convenor of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court. Trahan attended the conference as an observer of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, a member of the ABA ICC Task Force and Chair of the American Branch of the International Law Association's ICC Committee. The discussion focussed mainly on the relevance and outcome of the conference and the role of the United States during the negotiations. In addition to these substantive issues, Pace and Trahan spoke to Global Policy Forum about their career paths and offered their insights on what it means to work in the field of international law. They fielded questions on how UN politics has affected the ICC, the steps that must be taken to enforce justice internationally, and the budget of international courts and tribunals.
