Special Court prosecutor, David Crane has finally dropped his indictment against Revolutionary United Front (RUF) former warlords Foday Sankoh and Sam Maskita Bockarie. However, that does not mean their heinous crimes committed on this country will not be brought to light. According to Crane, " The whole story of the alleged crimes committed by Sankoh and Bockarie will be brought to light," A Special Court Press Release issued Friday maintained that Crane announced to the court's Trail Chamber that he is withdrawing the indictments since the accused were now deceased. " The withdrawal of these indictment does not mean that there will not be a record of what Sankoh and Bockarie did to the people of Sierra Leone," the Release quoted Crane as saying. Crane has requested that the death certificates of both deceased indictees be entered on the official court record.
