In contrast to the absence of labor at rallies in the US, anti-globalization protesters and trade union activists in London will "march side-by-side" in a planned May Day demonstration. Organizers hope to combine "traditional trade union values with a carnival atmosphere." (Guardian)

In recent years on May 1st, anti-globalization protests, and a subsequent police presence have filled the streets of London. This year, organizers plan a "fluid, spontaneous" meeting in which demonstrators must at all times remember to "keep moving," to undermine police tactics that aim to "contain" protestors.
