The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)

The UNRWA provides education, health, and relief and social services to 3.9 million registered Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, the Syrian Arab Republic, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. It currently faces a major funding crisis and has issued an international appeal, since food stores are scheduled to run out by the end of March.

 The UK's Independent provides excellent day-to-day reporting on the conflict. Editorials by Robert Fisk are particularly good.

 Middle East Information and Research Project (MERIP) is an independent Washington-based NGO that provides news and commentary on the Middle East. Excellent for getting a "big picture" understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Le Monde Diplomatique, a French monthly, periodically publishes detailed analyses of the Middle East crisis.

 

The Guardian, a UK daily, periodically publishes editorials by well-known scholars and journalists.
Al-Ahram Weekly is an Egyptian publication with frequent editorials on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.


The Jordan Times is a good source of day-to-day commentary on the conflict. Excellent resource for photos.
A US-based organization, Human Rights Watch has frequent updates on human rights violations in the Occupied Territories.
B'Tselem -- The Israeli Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories -- endeavors to document and educate the Israeli public and policymakers about human rights violations in the Occupied Territories.
Miftah is a Palestinian, Jerusalem-based, independent institution committed to fostering the principles of democracy and effective dialogue based on the free and candid exchange of information and ideas. One of the best sources of commentary on the crisis from a Palestinian perspective.
Amnesty International, a London-based human rights organization, documents human rights abuses in the Occupied Territories.
Al-Awda is a US-based human rights organization working on the Palestinians' right of return to their homes in Israel and the Occupied Territories.
Peace Now is an Israeli organization dedicated to lobbying the government of Israel to seek peace with the Palestinians through mutual compromise.
Addameer Prisoners Support and Human Rights Association is a Palestinian non-governmental, civil institution which focuses on human rights issues.
