Funding Shortfalls of Hunger Crises in 2002

Print

The 10 Largest Crises

(As at October 15, 2002)

Source: World Food Programme

These data show funding shortfalls of the WFP's relief projects with the largest number of people to be helped by the WFP operation. Although Cambodia was one of the largest crises of 2002 with 1,438,334 estimated beneficiaries, it is not included here, due to lack of data on shortfalls.

The data include only the hunger crises for which the WFP appealed for funding. The crises include both the WFP's Protracted Relief and Recovery Operations and Emergency Operations. They only include the WFP's ongoing operations, not those already completed.

The figures in US$ represent the value of food quantities.
