Funding Shortfalls of Hunger Crises in 2004

Print

The 10 Largest Crises

(As at October 11, 2004)

Source: World Food Programme

These data show funding shortfalls of the WFP's relief projects with the largest number of people to be helped by the WFP operation. Although Indonesia was one of the largest crises of 2004, it is not included here since the project was not set to start until January 2005. As of October 11, 2004 the shortfall for WFP's emergency operation in Indonesia was 89%.

The data include only the hunger crises for which the WFP appealed for funding. The crises include both the WFP's Protracted Relief and Recovery Operations and Emergency Operations. They only include the WFP's ongoing operations, not those already completed.

The figures in US$ represent the value of food quantities.
