Humanitarian interventions have become increasingly complex, a plethora of actors are now involved, and reporting of humanitarian crises has tended to be confused and disorganized. In response, this report collates data on the current financing of humanitarian crises and outlines some of the needs, responses and funding trends in the last 10 years. It scrutinizes the administration of humanitarian aid, the reaction to need, the provision of finance, the actors involved, the funding mechanisms used, and the countries and projects prioritized. It also looks at issues of humanitarian aid in relation to conflict and the military, donor and recipient governments and scales of needs.
