ECOSOC Briefing on Rising Food Prices

This briefing of the UN Economic and Social Council contains a discussion of the impacts and effects of rising food prices on agricultural production, food security and development as well as the UN's response. Representatives of the Food and Agricultural Organization, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, the World Food Programme and the Coordinator of the Secretary General's High-Level Task Force on Global Food Security Crisis seek an understanding of the fundamentals of rising food prices.
