The State of Food Insecurity in the World

The lateset report on Food Insecurity in the World 2011 identifies food price volatility as a major contributing factor to global food insecurity. It calls for increased long-term investment in the agricultural sector and emphasizes the importance of initiatives that support small farmers. The report was jointly produced by the UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Programme (WFP).
