UN Systemwide Budget Summary

Member States' Assessed Share of the UN Budget

The Core UN Budget

The Core UN Budget includes the UN Regular Budget, the UN Peacekeeping Operations Budget, expenditures for International Tribunals and the capital master plan (introduced in 2003).

  • UN Regular Budget
Covers the UN's regular budget (for core functions of the UN) e.g. outstanding debts, payments (and arrears) of the largest contributors and monthly updates on the regular budget situation.
  • UN Peacekeeping Operations Budget
Funding for all peacekeeping operations, including monthly contributions to the peacekeeping budget, expenditures and assessments to peacekeeping operations and the money owed to member states by the UN.

Financing of the UN Programmes, Funds and Specialized Agencies

Other Data Related to UN Finance

Miscellaneous related information, including public attitudes on UN finance, Official Development Assistance, etc.

Note: All data in these tables have been carefully collected from United Nations sources and checked for consistency. Users should be aware, however, that the UN does not always publish reliable data, that the UN sometimes releases data very late, that different offices sometimes release different versions of the same data (with large variations), and that different agencies release data with different parameters (assessments vs. expenditures, for instance) and different time periods. Not all data tables on the site are fully consistent with one another for this reason. But it seems fair to say that these tables, imperfect as they are, are the best available anywhere on this subject.
